Everest Base Camp

If you are considering doing an Everest Base Camp Trek then why not choose the Himalayan Everest trekking specialist to travel with?  At Himalayan Kingdoms we have over twenty years experience running treks in the Everest region including the classic Everest Base Camp trek, Everest Base Camp and Gokyo lakes and the lesser-travelled route to Everest Base Camp Tibet.

Your journey to Everest Base Camp will begin with a spectacular flight from Kathmandu to the tiny mountain airport at Lukla. From there you will begin your gradual ascent into the giant peaks of the Khumbu.  Our route takes you away from the main trail through small Sherpa villages where you will gain an insight into the lives of the local people.  Your goal is the peak of Kala Pattar which overlooks Everest Base Camp and offers superb views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Makalu.

For those looking for a longer trip we offer several other Everest Base Camp treks.  Our Everest Base Camp, Mani Rimdu and Gokyo trek, continues from Kala Pattar across the high Cho La Pass to the beautiful Gokyo lakes and an ascent of Gokyo Ri.  It also attends the spell-binding Mani Rimdu festival at Thyangboche monastery.  For intrepid trekkers, there is the opportunity to visit Everest Base Camp Tibet on our Nepalese and Tibetan Base Camps of Everest trip where you can explore the Rongbuk glacier as well as climbing Kala Pattar to view Everest Base Camp from the Nepalese side.

All of our Everest treks include excellent acclimatisation and are supported by a professionally trained Sherpa or Sirdar – who may turn out to be an Everest summiteer.  Accommodation is in comfortable tea-houses and, at the start and end of your trek, you will spend time in the exciting city of Kathmandu.
