Annapurna Circuit

Pic

The magnificent Annapurna Circuit Trek which circumnavigates the huge Annapurna Massif is widely acknowledged as one of the classic walks of the world.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek sets out from Pokhara and follows the Marshyangdi River, giving great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. At the head of the valley is the Thorong La, which at 17,765ft/5,416m is the high-point of the Annapurna Circuit. Descending to the west we enter the barren Tibetan-like valley of the Kali Gandaki. This is the world's deepest gorge and passes between the giants of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. A few more days brings us to Pokhara – the end of an unforgettable 200-miles of Annapurna trekking.

It is often said that if you aim to do just one trek in the Himalaya then the Annapurna Circuit is the one to complete, and many claim that it has more to offer than even the Everest Base Camp Trek. Kathmandu's bazaars, temples, shopping and famous restaurants can be sampled before and after the trek.

You can extend your Annapurna trekking holiday by opting for rafting on the Seti River or for a more sedate diversion, you might choose to visit the Kathmandu Valley and stay in our pretty cottage on the edge of the Shivapuri National Park. For those seeking to observe wild animals, the Chitwan National Park Safari may be the perfect way to round off your Annapurna Circuit Trek. Finally, a Mount Everest flight offers unforgettable and spectacular views of Everest and Everest Base Camp.

HIMALAYAN KINGDOMS TREKS IN THE ANNAPURNAS

Annapurna Circuit

This magnificent trek circumnavigates the huge Annapurna massif and crosses the Thorong La pass, which, at 5,416m, is the high-point of the trek. The route gives amazing views of many of the Himalayan giants as well as entering the Kali Gandaki Gorge – the deepest in the world.

Annapurna Sanctuary

An excellent first trek for those new to the region as it takes you close to some of the most dramatic and beautiful mountains in the Himalaya, but without going to very high altitude. The Annapurna Sanctuary itself is a huge cirque of some of the highest mountains in the world, culminating in the awe inspiring South Face of Annapurna.

The ‘Mini’ Annapurna Circuit

The ’Mini’ version of the Annapurna Circuit takes us through an incredible spectrum of landscape and culture. From paddy fields and sub-tropical forest, over the breathtaking Thorong La Pass, to the barren landscape of the Kali Gandaki Gorge and finally back to the lush green foothills.

Gentle Trekking and Luxury Lodges, Annapurna Foothills

This lovely trek uses the high-quality Ker & Downey lodges in the Annapurna foothills. The lodges have breathtaking views of the mountains, excellent facilities, landscaped gardens and are approximately five hours’ slow walking apart.

Dhaulagiri Circuit

Unlike other more remote treks in Nepal the Dhaulagiri Circuit doesn’t require any extra fees or permits and is exciting, challenging and truly off-the-beaten-track. The views are some of the most spectacular in the Himalaya.

Kali Gandaki Gorge to Jomsom Trek

This classic trek takes you up the deepest gorge in the world giving close up views of two of the world’s highest peaks - Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The scenery varies from lush farmland to dry Tibet-like in character and the flight from Jomsom is unforgettable.

Family Trek Nepal

This is a perfect trip for children and adults of all ages. There is a range of activities including mountain flights, a game park visit, gentle rafting and sightseeing of temples and bazaars. There is also a gentle trek in the Annapurna foothills where young children can be carried in padded, adapted cane baskets by Sherpa porters.
